Statements about ISH 2007

Wolfgang Burchard, General Manager, Fittings Association in the Association of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers (Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagenbau – VDMA): "ISH 2007 came up to the high expectations placed in it. The VDMA Fittings Associations drew this positive conclusion on the last day of the most important international forum for the sector".

"The basis is a poll of the members of our manufacturing section. The good mood in which the fittings industry came to Frankfurt proved to be very much in line with the trend and actually improved over the five days of the fair. This is reflected by the main results of the poll in which, without exception, our exhibitors reported good to very good visits in both qualitative and quantitative terms, especially on the Wednesday and Thursday. Compared to the last event in 2005, the ratings were significantly better in various criteria. This included, in particular, the further growth in the number of visitors from outside Germany. However, we also noted an extremely positive trend during our discussions with the installation trade and the specialist wholesale trade. Another contributory factor: a large increase in 'frequent contacts' to potential new customers."

Günther Mertz, General Manager, Building Climate Institute (Fachinstitut Gebäude Klima e.V. - FGK):
"The full spectrum of air-conditioning and ventilation technology was to be seen at the ISH and this made it very clear that, as part of the ISH, Aircontec is the world's foremost source of information for the sector. The FGK was also very impressed by the visitor structure of the fair: according to our members, there has been a significant increase in the number of planners and investors – a target group that is of great importance to the air-conditioning and ventilation industry. In the case of the home ventilation segment, it is becoming evident that the years of working with Messe Frankfurt on the dissemination of information are now bearing fruit. Mechanical ventilation is on the best way to becoming standard in new buildings."

Dr. Thomas Schräder, General Manager, General Ventilation Technology Association in the Association of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers (Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagenbau – VDMA):
"The focal-point subjects at this year's Aircontec were exactly right. From the point of view of manufacturers of ventilation and air-conditioning technology, the political target of CO2 reduction and improved energy efficiency goes hand in hand with purchasing arguments that have been obvious for a long time. Higher investments in more efficient components and systems pay for themselves via operating-cost savings and reduced life-cycle costs. Aircontec was very well attended and reflected the almost euphoric general economic situation for our sector. The international Aircontec once again proved to be the ideal platform from which to launch the main claims of our highly export-oriented sector."

Michel van der Horst, Secretary General, EUROVENT-CECOMAF (European Association of the Ventilation and Refrigeration Technology Industry):
“The world’s leading trade fair ISH offered the ideal platform for the meeting of the Environmental Commission of EUROVENT. ISH/Aircontec has indeed set the appropriate priorities and focused on quite important issues of our whole industry sector. We would like to thank Messe Frankfurt for the arrangements and for being host for our Eurovent meeting during the fair.”

Christian Scholz, President, Association of German Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Companies (Verband Deutscher Kälte-Klima-Fachbetriebe e.V. – VDKF):
"The concept of the first IKK Building Forum at ISH/Aircontec was a complete success. Refrigeration and air-conditioning companies demonstrated their expertise in the field of building-services technology and the associated lectures attracted a large number of interested visitors. Moreover, the IKK Building Forum represents a bridge between the IKK and ISH/Aircontec linking two complementary trade fairs."

Yvan Dejaeghere, President, European Federation of the Associations of the Sanitary and Heating Wholesale Trade (FEST):
"As wholesalers we play the important role as middle man in the market. At the moment we experience fast changing and diversifying markets with more and more products and different customers, who have different demands. Here at ISH we have the opportunity to see new designs, new technologies and the future trends in the sanitary and heating markets. We collect all this information and catalyse it in order to translate the most important messages for our customers."

Wilhelm Reber, Chairman, German Tiled Stove Working Group (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der deutschen Kachelofenwirtschaft, AdK):
“For us, the ISH confirmed that we have been on the right track with all our efforts and initiatives over the last two years. The echo from all participants has been very, very good and this confirms once again that Frankfurt is the ideal venue for the AdK. In our sector, the ISH is the foremost venue for presenting our achievements. From discussions with our members, it is evident that the exhibitor expectations have been exceeded by far at the ISH. From our point of view, making renewable energies the main topic of the fair was a very good idea. After all, the installation trade is highly interested in new developments and this, in turn, reflects consumer demand for energy-saving technology."

Dr. Herbert Rudolf, General Manager, Federal Association of the Heating, Air Conditioning, Sanitation Technology and Building Services Systems Industry (Bundesindustrieverband Heizungs-, Klima-, Sanitärtechnik/Technische Gebäudesysteme – BHKS):
"The ISH 2007 reflected the economic boom taking place in many regions of the world: satisfaction and optimism wherever one looked: on the stands, throughout the Exhibition Centre and the whole city. The exhibits of many companies were distinguished by an extremely high presentation standard. For industrially-structured companies in the field of building-services systems, the development of the property market in Europe continues to be of great importance. Last year, direct investments amounted to almost € 250 billion: a double-digit rate of growth over the previous year. A similar rate of growth is to be expected for 2007, which will once again ensure full order books for companies in the building-services systems. In the medium term, the ISH must expect further growth in the level of internationality."

Robert Burgon, Deputy Chairman, World Plumbing Council:
“The World Plumbing Council (WPC) is delighted to work again with our special industry partner Messe Frankfurt. The show provides an excellent opportunity to share the WPC message with a truly global audience. We have recently been recognized by the World Health Organization and look forward to working with them and Messe Frankfurt in promoting the link between plumbing, health and the environment.”
