Eclat de Mode Bilan
We are delighted that the show just closed attracted 478 companies and labels (compared with 418 last February), with 49% of these coming from abroad and representing 30 countries. The exhibitors occupied 17,000 m² of exhibition space.
31 labels (including 20 from abroad) representing 495 m² were rejected by the show’s selection committee. Having made a substantial advance on September 2005 (+20.5%), Eclat de Mode has strengthened its position as the undisputed leading show for fashion jewellery with a 2.3% rise in visitor numbers compared with the previous show to 11,004 visitors. Foreign buyers were present in force: with a 6.2% rise in international visitors. NB: strict monitoring of trade credentials at the show entrance ensured an even higher quality body of visitors. Overall, the change of hall was well received by both exhibitors and visitors, with its air-conditioning ensuring more comfortable working conditions. Many visitors found the sector divisions of the show, which were introduced a number of shows ago, to be more coherent as a result of the two level layout of the show. An increasing number of visitors are travelling long distances to the show, with increases in those coming from southern Africa (South Africa), Latin America and Oceania. There were also increases from Germany (+26.06%) - Switzerland (+23.29%) – Belgium (+17.11%) - Arab countries (+13.8%) - Portugal (+13.7%) – Italy (+11.9%) – Japan (+5.7%) – USA (+4.6%) as well as very strong growth from Eastern and Central Europe: +41%, with most being Russian and Czech buyers. In particular, we welcomed a delegation of top Russian buyers. This visit was organized by our Moscow partner, who ensured they received a red carpet treatment: presentation of the show, meeting with the BOCI for a presentation of the French jewellery market… We will mount more of this kind of operation with our local sales agents. Press Office Results Over the 4 days of the show, the press office welcomed 486 French and international journalists (+7.5%), from the trade and consumer press and broadcast media. As a whole 290 titles were represented. The coverage of the show by the individual titles reflected their centres of interest: fashion, its trends and its designers, the fashion jewellery market, or, quite simply, the Paris Capitale de la Création event. We would like to express our warm thanks to the press agencies for the expertise with which they have focused on subjects able to capture the interest of the general public. The CD of photos of the flagship products of exhibitors was a big hit with the journalists and we will repeat this operation for the next show.
