Domogar brings a successful edition to a close with 7354 visitors

The 4th edition of DOMOGAR, Fair for Domotics and Digital Homes, was held from 7th to 10th March 2007 at Feria Valencia, with the participation of 124 commercial brands from 14 countries. The fair registered a total of 7354 visitors, an 11.13% increase on the 6797 visitors to last year´s event

Open both to trade professionals and general public alike, the majority of visitors to the fair were installers and integrators, architects, interior designers and decorators, engineers, builders and developers, and consultants, among a whole range of professionals related with the sectors on display.

As far as foreign visitors are concerned, DOMOGAR 07 registered a spectacular growth of 83%. In fact, this edition saw trade professionals from 16 different countries. Though the numbers from Germany and Portugal were particularly significant, DOMOGAR also registered large numbers from Andorra, Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Ethiopia, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Senegal, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela.

All visitors to the fair had a wonderful opportunity to discover the latest in integrated domotic and immotic systems enabling easy control over applications for comfort, security and leisure in homes today; as well as elements that attracted a lot of attention like the new computerized bidet-seat, the new pneumatic elevator, or new biometric control systems for access and detecting presence.

-1st DOMOGAR DIGITAL HOME AWARDS: a challenge for universities-

DOMOGAR 07 was also the chosen backdrop to present the 1st DOMOGAR DIGITAL HOME AWARDS which will be awarded during next year´s edition of the fair in 2008. The awards had their own promotional stand at the fair which attracted thousands of visitors.

The Ministry of Education and Science and the Regional Department of Business, University and Science for Valencia -the official promoters of the awards together with Feria Valencia- view this competition as a positive challenge to Spanish universities, who will compete with each other for these unique distinctions for R&D in Spain.

The awards are divided into four categories restricted to university students plus another two open to professionals.

The four university categories are:

DíLARTEC - COMFORT / LEISURE: technological applications whose goal is to increase user comfort at home.
ORBIS - ENERGY SAVING & EFFICIENCY: systems conceived to reduce consumption of energy and to optimise energy resources.
MINIATEC - SECURITY: domotic applications aimed at increasing family safety at home. Sponsored by MINIATEC.
TAU CERÁMICA - UNIVERSAL DESIGN & ACCESSIBILITY projects introducing basic principles of "universal design".
And the categories open to professionals are:

INNOVATION & RESEARCH IN THE DIGITAL HOME: ideas and studies on development, innovation and research in the digital home.
HONORARY AWARD: for the lifetime work of a leading figure in domotics.
