PAST

The origins of VIDAL GRAU go back to 1953, when it was know as SOYMA, working on premises in the city of Valencia where it produce small centre tables with a metal structure. In 1963 the firm moved to the town of Benimamet and the trade name changed to HIERROS ARTÍSTICOS VIDAL. At that time its production was varied and consisted of metal and wooden furniture with advanced designs.

The actual business status dates back to 1974, when the Bétera production plant was built and the company name was definitively changed to VIDAL GRAU MUEBLES.

PRESENT

Nowadays the factory is working at full production, with complete domestic equipment for the household (bedroom and dining room suites, halls, complements, etc.) Our furniture, of contemporary design are based in traditional quality materials such as wood, metal, glass, marble and including other more innovative elements such as methacrylate and moulded and trated resin mixture.

Our factory outlets are sited on a 20.000 square meters, 8.000 of them belonging to factory and offices. The total staff in the company is 100 people, and includes a design department, equipped with the best computer hardware & software.

VIDAL GRAU MUEBLES market is the whole world. We export 80% of our production to so varied markets as European Union, East Europe, Far East, Middle East, the American Continent and the North Africa.

We are exhibiting in the main world international Furniture Fairs taking place in Valencia (Spain), Köln (Germany), Milano (Italy), Paris (France) & Moscow (Russia), and we have permanent exhibitors in the main markets through of our official distributors

We were pioneers in the introduction of the Certification of the Quality system according ISO 9000 in 1998 and We have been ratified with he ISO 9001:2000 in November 2003, showing our bet for the Total Quality.

VIDAL GRAU MUEBLES was pioneer in the furniture segment for the implementation of an environment management system, after our Ecoaudit in 1995 on wich results were marked our objectives. In our premises a water purifying plant is working, we also have a toxic waste disposal depot and all our residuals are treated through authorised enterprises in our comunity, In consequence of the total implatation of the Enviromental Management System, the certification according to ISO 14001 has been conferred on us in November 2002, being the first company in the furniture sector un obtain it.

In November 2005 we have ratified our Enviromental Managenent System with the standard international ISO 14001:2004, reinforcing our philosophy of respect to the enviroment.

FUTURE

Our philosophy is to continue expansion at a costant rate, not only in the sales volume but also in innovation and quality.

Our factory is enlarging the premises, in order to reinforce the final sections of the production line, and is opening news markets where our presence isn`t significant actually. We will keep working on the modification of our production systems and on the continual improvement procedures.

Our industrial organisation is in the process of integrating our sister company MUEBLES MOVI, S.L. in such important aspects as the purchase management or the investigation of new process and materials. In this regard, VIDAL GRAU MUEBLES shall continue investigating, always in the search of alternatives that may mean challenges on the design always in the furniture segment.
