Chocolates Garoto makes around 60 products that are exported within more than 50 countries of the five continents. Mercosur countries are their principal buyers. In the last years, Garoto invested in the chocolate production increases, mainly in the chocolate bombons line and new products development. Since 2002, the company belongs to the Swiss multinational Nestle, which continues the brand segment and products. Its history began when the German immigrate Henrique Meyerfreund, on 1929, founded the Chocolates Garoto company in Brazil, one of the three greater chocolate manufacturers of the Southern Hemisphere. Its high technology industrial park is established at Vila Velha, neighboring town to Vitória, State Capital of Espírito Santo. The Garoto factory has capacity to produce 140 thousand annual tons of chocolate, in a three turn production operating method. Garoto constant policy is to invest in technology, that’s why it has the greatest and more advanced center of vertical storage plant of Latin America, the Distribution Center of Espírito Santo (CDES) with its ideal conditions of humidity and temperature.
